What you tell Leka in chat: your messages, name, income, essentials, spends, savings goals and recurring bills. If you add an email to your Leka profile, we store it as part of your profile. If you contact support, we store the issue you submit and any screenshot you choose to attach. We also keep limited technical error information such as app version, browser/device details and error messages so we can diagnose crashes and reliability problems.
We use your profile, transactions and chat information to provide and improve Leka. Your messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude to generate replies. Support screenshots are kept privately for troubleshooting and are not public. Limited diagnostic logs are used for reliability and debugging. Adding an email does not subscribe you to marketing; promotional product updates are only sent if you separately opt in. We do not sell your data.
Leka cannot see your PIN or move money in any account. Future wallet links will only share transaction notifications, and only after you approve the link on the provider's own page.
Receipt photos are sent through Leka's backend to Anthropic's Claude only when you choose Scan receipt so purchase details can be extracted. Leka does not save the raw receipt image in its database through this feature. Voice input starts only when you tap Speak to Leka and uses the speech-recognition service provided by your browser or device; Leka receives the resulting text rather than continuously recording in the background.
Inside the Leka app you can review the information Leka uses for coaching, edit your profile, export your data and permanently delete your account. Account deletion also removes support screenshots associated with your account. You can also contact us with privacy questions. We are working to meet the requirements of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for users in South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), ahead of public launch.
